Class Sessions

Acting is not only about understanding oneself but developing a keen sensitivity to the experiences of others.  Each session will be devoted to assisting actors in finding their unique voice.  Through the use of relaxation, journaling and rigorous self-reflection, actors will be encouraged to invest completely in the process.  Exploration of text, vocal production and acting technique will be at the heart of the work.  Utilizing the teachings of Uta Hagen and Sanford Meisner, each actor will be taught to employ a specific way of working when approaching a text.

The Work

Each session will begin with a short relaxation exercise.  Actors should come prepared to work on a monologue. They may bring a piece that they are working on or I will provide some choices that most suits their personality and age.  A scene will also be provided for each actor so we can explore text, character and relationships.
